Serie A side AS Roma has deemed it fit to honour club legend Francesco Totti by launching the striker’s final shirt into space.
Totti devoted his entire 24-year playing career to Serie A giants before retiring in May, 2017.
A rocket carrying the iconic number 10 shirt, from his final game against Genoa, was successfully launched from French Guyana on Tuesday.
The 40-year-old scored a massive 307 goals in 786 appearances for the Giallorossi since he made his debut aged 16 in 1993.
Totti won one Serie A title and two Coppa Italia titles during his spell at the club. He is the top goalscorer and most capped player in the Club’s history.
Totti will now become a director at the Italian club.
