Spanish giants Real Madrid have completed the signing of Atletico Madrid full-back Theo Hernandez on a five-year contract.
The 19-year-old completed medical examinations at the Santas-La Moraleja Clinic.
The left-back will move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer for a fee of around €30 million.
According to reports from AS, Barcelona and Real Madrid were both in the race to sign the left-back and the Catalans made around the same offer with Madrid and even had a meeting with Hernandez’s agent Manuel Garcia Quilon in Soria. Notwithstanding, the player preferred move to Atleti’s City rivals and will now represent the Los Blancos for the next five years.
The Frenchman, whose transfer caused a verbal pact between the Roji Blancos and the Los Blancos, is seen as a decent back-up for Real Madrid Star Marcelo.
Theo Hernandez has been on-loan to Derpotivo La Corona and has churned out brilliant performances and shown his quality.
The defender will earn around a total of €3.5 million in the first year of his contract and the salary will increase progressively over the five-year duration.
