Mikel now highest paid Nigerian Footballer ahead of Moses, Iheanacho & Others


Newly signed Tianjin TEDA Midfielder is now the highest paid Nigerian footballer so far in year 2017 after moving from the London Giants few days ago.

soccerblitz.net reported Victor Moses was about to get a new contract that would make him the highest paid Nigerian a week ago but this move by Mikel has seen him overcome his ex-club-mate as the highest earning Nigerian footballer.

Mikel Obi will be pocketing a whooping 140, 000 pounds weekly which is 80 million nair which is two times what he earned at Chelsea FC. Kelechi Iheanacho currently earns 85, 000 pounds.


Mikel moved to China after spending more than 10 years at Chelsea. He won the premier league twice with the blues, the FA Cup four times and he also won the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
