Ronald Koeman will make it a priority to sign Jack Wilshere for Everton next summer, according to reports.
Wilshere has earned significant praise for his form while on loan at Bournemouth, having initially been criticised for joining them over Milan.
That led Arsene Wenger to express regret over letting Wilshere leave, given Arsenal’s own injury problems in central midfield.
It is expected that Wilshere will be offered a new deal to stay at Arsenal when his Bournemouth loan expires but, in the Sunday People, Tom Hopkinson writes that Koeman will try to throw a spanner in the works.
Wilshere is out of contract in 18 months, but would still command a sizeable transfer fee. It has previously been reported that Manchester City have been asked to be kept informed, and they are unlikely to be only club interested should Wilshere leave Arsenal.
Koeman has been getting tetchy about the inability of Everton’s owners to get transfers over the line, but signing Morgan Schneiderlin in January and Wilshere in the summer would certainly answer those doubts.
