With Arsenal consistently falling apart when a competition gets to its peak, winning any major trophy will be an uphill task for the London based football club.
The team has failed to win any Major trophy ever since they won the Premier League during the 2002/2003 season, and then named “The Invincible Gunners” having failed to lose a game all season.
I will be highlighting reasons i think Arsenal may never win any major trophy and measures to take to overcome this curse that has plunged the team for over 10 years.
1. The players are not hungry for success
The reason for this consistently falling apart when a competition gets to its peak is very simple, Arsenal is full of players that have not tasted much success before talk less of being hungry for more. I mean you can only want more of what you have gotten before.
This makes the players that are hungry for success to dump the club for rival club, i cant blame the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Van Persie, Alex Song, Gael Clichy, Sagna for leaving the club, playing football for 10 years without any major trophy is like pushing out an article and you’ve got no one to read it.
2. Average players
A team aiming to win the premier League and Champions League shouldn’t be playing with average players, inexperienced players.
am not saying youngsters should not be giving the chance to thrive, but when you are playing in a top competition or a competition is getting to its peak, you should be fielding your best legs and you should have equally good legs,so when a player get injured or couldn’t play for a reason you will have an equally capable player to replace him.
3. Arsene Wenger
The man should be blamed for everything, as a coach i think Arsene Wenger mentality is not winning, i is developing young talents,am not against developing young talents but you shouldn’t do it in a way that will harm the club’s chances of winning silverware.
Barcelona are developing young talents too, infact they have the best academy products in the world, they have produced the likes of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Xavi to mention a few.
The most important thing is when you are giving young talents a chance to showcase their talents you should fill their head with the right worlds, with words that will motivate to want to win, Mr Wenger is not telling his youngsters the right motivational words, i will be quoting something he said.
he said, “Young players need freedom of expression to develop as creative players… they should be encouraged to try skills without fear of failure.
At a young age winning is not the most important thing… the important thing is to develop creative and skilled players with good confidence.”
If Arsenal fans and board are not really about making money out of the sales of players, then i think #wengermustgo
