Another ‘Oyinbo’ Foreign Player to make Super Eagles debut against Senegal, Rohr Confirms


Super Eagles Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has confirmed that ADO Den Haag’s Tyrone Ebuehi will play for the Super Eagles in the Upcoming friendly match against the Teranga lions of Senegal.

Speaking at a press conference at Teslim Balogun Stadium, the German confirmed that he had spoken to Tyrone Ebuehi’s parents & agents and the 21 year old would be available for Nigeria

“I’ve been speaking with Tyrone Ebuehi’s parents and agent “ “He’ll be available for friendly(vs Senegal) in March.” Rohr said

“Tyrone Ebuehi is big, he’s quick and he can play at either fullback positions.” He added

The Super Eagles have been short of Options at right back following the inactivity of natural right back Musa Mohammed and have tried out leicesters new signing Wilfred Ndidi and Kenneth Omeruo as stop gap alternatives.

The German tactician has identified Tyronne Ebuehi as an ideal option to fix the lingering problem and invited the youngster to star in the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Algeria, but Ebuehi turned it down stating he wasn’t ready and wanted to focus on his club but would honor future invitations

Ebuehi was Born in the Netherlands to a Dutch mother and a Nigerian father and has been on top form at Kyocera Stadium this term. The player is also eligible to play for Holland
