Four Nigerians have been nominated for the 2016 GLO CAF Awards billed to hold next January in Abuja.
No Nigerian player was nominated for the African player of the year category but super eagles youngsters dominated in other categories.
Manchester City striker Kelechi Ihenacho and Oghenekaro Etebo were both nominated in the most promising talent category.
African Women Cup of Nations winning coach Florence Omagbemi was picked amongst four other male coaches in the Coach of The year.
Current Africa’s best female footballer Asisat Oshoala makes the nomination for Women footballer of the year. The Arsenal ladies striker scored 5 goals in the just concluded AWCON tournament which Nigeria won for a record 8th time defeating Cameroon.
Alex Iwobi who made his Nigeria debut in 2015 for Nigeria’s U23 side has also been nominated as Youth Player of the year.
Nigeria’s Olympic Eagles, the dream team VI who won bronze at the Rio Olympics will also be vying for the National team of the year.
Nigeria was not recognised in the club of the year category, African Player based in Africa category and Referee of the year category.
