African giant Nigeria will not play in next year’s Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Zambia after the West Africa side was eliminated by little fancied opposition.

Nigeria, who are the defending champions of the competition, fell to a shock 3-4 home defeat to Sudan who sealed a famous qualification.

Former world champions Ghana were dumped out on Friday by Senegal 3-2 on aggregate despite the Black Satellite winning 1-0 in Cape Coast.

But the biggest surprise came on Saturday when Nigeria hosted ten-man Sudan in Lagos leading 2-1 from the first leg.
