Giwa FC to Abandon Re-Scheduled game, Enyimba play Oriental derby vs Heartland


Giwa FC will not be honouring thier rescheduled NPFL week 11 game aginst Enugu Rangers today in Abuja.

The game is to be continued from the 74th minute at the FIFA Goal Project pitch today but the team have not been seen near the stadium today while their opponents Enugu Rangers have been in Abuja since yesterday.

Rangers lead the game by 1-0 and failure of the Jos based team to turn up means Imama Amapakapo’s side will be handed maximum point which adds spice to their league challenge.

Enyimba FC will play hosts to Heartland FC of Owerri in another rescheduled game,  the Peoples Elephants got their first win away from home last sunday when they played Akwa United in Uyo.

Enyimba are set to repeat their victory Heartland having won the Imo state based club 2-0 last season with goals from Chinonso Okonkwo and Chistian Obiozor.

This is the first time Enyimba will be playing at home after qualifying for the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

Sunshine Stars also host Nasarawa United,  both teams lost away from home last weekend and are hoping to pick positives from the game.

Last season,  it was Nasarawa United who were the first team to defeat the Owena Waves at the Akure Township stadium 3-2 breaking a 6-year jinx.
